Origin & Inspiration

18 May 2012

I was reading a facebook post about a friend finding some old photos that had been dripped on in the attic. Being the London Olympics, my first thought was "Old, limp pics = Olympics", so I toyed with the word Olympics in differing forms.

Londinium 2012

Old, limp pics

Left in a dampened loft

The roof has let the weather in

And all the card's gone soft

Ole limp wrist

a-swimming up the channel

It's David Walliams in the shower

And mincing with his flannel

Old, limp pigs

With thorns stuck in their trotter

Toss 'em on the Barbeque

And make that bacon hotter

Old, limp pegs

Left in the rain by Gypsies

Then flogged to gullible housewives

Who still believe in Pixies

Old, limp Picts

Still giving The English Hell

Lead by racist homophobe¹

The Gibson they call Mel

Olympics

It started off in Greece

And now they got no money left

Just nudie atheletes

Oil lamp sticks

Brandished by raging mobs

I've stretched phoenetics too far now

So I'd better shut me gob!
